Hardware Overview

The Astrata Global Location Platform (GLP) is the backbone of the Astrata telematics product line and the foundation of the Company’s Location-Based Services (LBS) and research and development plan.

The GLP technology allows a variety of solutions to be designed and implemented across the globe for a variety of applications.

The GLP integrates GPS, a cellular phone and an operating system into a platform which can be deployed in different configurations to suit the application. The flexibility of the options available allows self powered, hard wired and portable systems to be utilised depending on the situation and/or requirement.

The GLP technology provides the customer with the most cost-effective LBS applications combined with least-cost routing protocols, regardless of global location. When using one of Astrata’s solutions, customers are able monitor and control virtually any equipment, vehicles, assets or individuals, using real-time information systems.

Applications can be customised for use in a diverse range of scenarios including container tracking for homeland security applications, biometric driver identification systems for use in high security projects, and safety-related, randomized breathalyzer testing for employees operating dangerous equipment.
